LMS, a Helping Hand to Everyone

May 16th, 2010 · No Comments

LMS has proven to be beneficial to everyone despite their physical disability. This has been made possible with the progress in ergonomics which pertains to the study of workers and their environment.

It is a disheartening fact that 12 million of the 17 million disabled people of the working age don’t have a job. Nearly 80% of them have the interest to work but don’t have the opportunity. But they don’t find it easy to accomplish it as their disability stands as an obstacle in their path. Disabled people will be able to go a long way in life if they only choose to enhance their skills instead of ruing about their disability. There is no doubt that they will be successful in life.

You can make it big in the professional market despite your disability if you follow the tips given below. Optimism holds the key to success so be optimistic always. You should not feel dejected at any cost if a company refuses to hire you; be sure that the company doesn’t deserve a great talent like you.

Identify your talents. Find out those activities which are like child’s plays to you.  Make a list of all the job possibilities using which you can showcase your complete talent.
Some employers interview the candidates before employing them in their company or organization. Irrespective of the position offered, take up these interviews as they’ll help you get an idea about how to face them in the future.

You can find out if a company has vacancies for people with disabilities or not by seeing if there is a ‘Positive about disabled people’ icon.

Seeking the advice or guidance of government agencies that help people with disabilities. You can definitely get good help of any nature from them. You should contact your state employment office or an office of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation for support if you are in the US.

There are people with disabilities who don’t go for a job as their periodical financial assistance will be stopped. Volunteering or working part time will definitely let you earn a decent income. Your financial assistance will not be stopped if your income falls below the minimum amount. You need not rely upon the financial assistance and progress on your own if you start working in a full-fledged manner later.

You can achieve further progress only if you enhance your skills through education or training. Disabled people will certainly outperform others if they receive formal training to excel in their field of interest. This is what makes employers think twice before considering them for a job.

We’ll be able to find a lot of LMS courses centred on people with disabilities today. This has given a new surge of hope for disabled people. People’s perspective towards disabilities is changing greatly these days.

Chris Tachibana speaks about this in detail in an article he contributed for MSNBC recently.

Tachibana says that disabilities can be converted from banes to boons when they are properly utilized. A good example for this is Ron Brix, who is affected with Asperger Syndrome (a form of autism) yet is highly successful as a computer system developer. One can do justice to that job only if he/she has high amount of concentration, gives a lot of attention to even the most minuscule of all details and doesn’t stop till attaining perfection.

Disabled people can find a shoulder of support in online jobs and vocational training programmes. An LMS or LCMS will help you come up with new and highly efficient training methods.
