Attempting to envision the reaction will most likely land you in more trouble in terms of answers and excuses than presuming the worst.
Always presuming the worst could be the best recommendation that you could take because you are then prepared for anything. If you are assured and put religion in your degree, providing proof to substantiate the fact that it is real, it should no longer hold you back!
