The Work Life Balance Could Be Improved By Selecting To Work From Home

November 26th, 2009 · No Comments

I am positive we all know the quote “nobody goes to the grave saying they wished they had spent more hours at work” but so many of us feel the requirement to spend numerous hours away from family and people we love in favour of our job.

We seem to be becoming a “coat on seat” culture where it is important for our managers to see our jacket on our seat when they arrive at their desk, and it is still there when they leave. We must be dedicated to be working so many hours. In fact these hours are probably not all productive. If we are most anxious to be seen to be doing something, we may not actually be doing anything useful.

When you add the many hours spent journeying to and from their work and it is really not surprising that people are worn out. They are very possibly spending half of each week day either at work or getting to the office, which does not leave much time to enjoy with family and friends. When the weekend arrives all they want to do is sleep and relax.

So, family life can take its toll. Partners are losing out on quality time together and can believe they are losing the support they crave. Children are aware that there is no time to run them to clubs or for treats, and assume they are missing out. It would appear to be a no-win state of affairs for all involved.

Have you considered whether your work/life balance be improved if you were to Work From Home? Think of the advantages this could bring to your life. There have always been options to Work From Home, but recently there has been a rise in this market. With greater|better|increased[/spin] use of the Internet Business is booming and with it openings for Online Jobs, which do not require a commute to the office, are growing.

Sometimes, when we are so busy, we do not have the opportunity to sit back and analyse our lives, the way we are living them, and what we really want to achieve. We need funds to pay the bills. Our job gives us the means to do this, and as long as everything is running well, we carry on as we are although we know deep down that our health and personal life are taking the hit for the good of work.

Over the past year many employees have been made redundant as the recession affected companies both large and small, and this has enabled people who would never have seriously considered Online Jobs in the past are now thinking that a job in the Internet Business may be the move for them.

The opportunity to Work From Home would instantly cut a few hours a day from the working week, without in reality spending any fewer hours working. The time saved may mean you are not so tired and therefore your friends and loved ones will be able to spend more time with you and you will become more stress-free.

Redundancy may now be your buddy as it gives you the break you needed and the opportunity to become self employed, in charge of your own working future, working in a growing market – the Internet Business, and with no one but yourself to answer to in your daily working life.
