Too much stress can make you dull. It is important that you still strike the balance between work and play. I find that after a weekend of bliss and fun, my outputand performance also enhance. There are several ways to manage your time and effort. You will find that you can become more positive about the workplace if you have had enough rest and recreation after every challenge. Here are some tips to get your started.
1. Create a sound schedule
Determine the number of days you work in a week, as well as the number of hours you work in a day. Assign rest periods in between. I find it very helpful to stick to a schedule and get to work as soon as possible. It still get the rest I need such as reading a book for 15 to 20 minutes, then going back and finishing the job. I make it a point that I get enough rest time also during the weekends. If my day didn’t go so well, I’d go around town on a Wednesday night shopping for laptop briefcases. I’d just do simple stuff that would keep my mind off stress even for just a few minutes.
2. Take on a well-rounded approach
Set goals and objectives for both work and play. For example, I set the goal of finishing my report on a Friday. I also make smaller objectives that will eventually help lead to the overall goal. This will provide me more time to unwind and relax. As long as the missionsfor the given day are met, I know I am within schedule. It is equally important for me to take on a well-rounded approach in terms of rest and relaxation. I’d reenergize mentally, physically and emotional. Once I found this beautiful briefcase for women and rewarded myself after a good week.
3. Unwind with others
Nothing relaxes me more than conversing with other stressed individuals. I find it easy to relate with individuals who also deal with various types of stresses all week long. Hitting the gym or spa with friends is a good way to relax. Sometimes, I write short thoughtful notes to my colleagues just to help ease their day. I discovered that giving out these help me relax too. I once received a rolling briefcase for my good deeds. Talking to other people online is also a good way to keep your mind off work at night and be ready for next day’s activities.
4. End work on weekends
I used to be a workaholic before, so even on weekends, I’d try to squeeze ina couple of paperwork or reports. I usually end up finishing 2 days ahead of schedule. Although it does give me spare time, I only find that I use up the remaining days trying to de-stress because of the torment I went through, missing the entire weekend. Nowadays, I make it a point to set at least Saturday or Sunday solelyfor fun and leisure. You may want to plan ahead so at least you still stick to your schedule.
