With all of the uncertainty in today’s economy, one can hardly be blamed for feeling less than secure in any job, no matter what field it may be in. Concerns abound about businesses closing and people being put out of work, making it hard to feel like any position is truly secure. No one can predict how stable a certain career path will be, but there’s one basic fact to consider- people will always have a need to travel by air. Airport jobs and Airline jobs are under a lot of scrutiny, as people feel that those jobs in particular may give reason for concern. What people forget, however, when they make assumptions about the viability of airline and airport jobs, is the sheer volume of professionals involved in getting flights safely and successfully off of and back on to the ground.

Every day, tens of thousands of people use air travel. Whether it’s for business reasons or personal reasons, there is an ongoing need for fast travel over long distances; currently, this can only be accomplished with air travel. There are quite a few airline jobs and airport jobs that are holding steady, including safety-related positions and security positions. There’s an ever-present need to secure conditions on the ground at airports, so most of the larger airports have been steadily increasing the number of security personnel they employ. There are also a lot of seasonal positions over the holidays that are available, due to the increased amount of travel and packages being handled.

The rich culture of the area has for years attracted a variety of people from a multitude of backgrounds.
